Senators land Ullmark in big goalie trade

As announced during the Stanley Cup Game 7 finals yesterday, the Ottawa Senators have executed a major goalie trade, bringing Boston Bruins netminder Linus Ullmark to Ottawa in exchange for Joonas Korpisalo, Mark Kastelic and the 25th overall (1st round) draft pick in the 2024 draft.

The Senators will also retain 25% of Korpisalo’s remaining salary.

The Senators are hopeful this will prove to be a major upgrade in net as Ullmark has a history of impressive numbers in goals-against average and save percentages, plus previous playoff experience.

Ullmark is set to make $5 million dollars next year before he comes an unrestricted free agent.
