PLAYER PROFILE – Linus Ullmark

Drafted in 2012 in the 6th round – 163rd overall by the Buffalo Sabres, the Lugnvik, Sweden native, is enjoying his 10th year in the NHL and 1st year with the Senators. Ullmark is best remembered for the 2023 season when he won the William J. Jennings Trophy and the Vezina Trophy for the Boston Bruins. He was traded to the Ottawa Senators on June 24, 2024 in exchange for Joonas Korpisalo, Mark Kastelic and a 1st round draft pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Ullmark signed a 4-year contract extension with the Senators that kicks in next year, at $8.25 million a year and keeps him under contract until the year 2029.

Linus Ullmark joined the Ottawa Senators this season, donning jersey #35 which is another jersey that was exclusively reserved for netminders. Former goalie Tom Barrasso and Alex Auld, also wore jersey #35 with the Senators.l

ON THIS DAY IN SENATORS HISTORY

In 2021, Anton Forsberg recorded the first shutout of his NHL career when facing Tampa Bay (4-0 win) and making 25 saves.  In the same game, Brady Tkachuck recorded the first hat-trick of his NHL career.

In 1995, the Ottawa Senators named Pierre Gauthier as their new General Manager, replacing Randy Sexton.
