Ullmark played a fabulous game, making 32 saves and earning his career 10th shutout. This was his first career victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Senators have little time to rest as they are set to play tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins at home before setting off on a 15,789 km long holiday road trip.

Senators vs. Pittsburgh
Last Season: The Senators battled the Pittsburgh Penguins three times last season and swept them in the series 3-0. Interestingly, every victory against the Penguins resulted in breaking Ottawa’s current losing streak.
It started on October 28th when the Senators upended the Penguins 5-2 to end their 3 game losing streak. This was followed by an overtime victory, 5-4, on December 23rd, ending another losing streak. Lastly, another overtime victory, 2-1, on March 12 broke another losing streak.
Game Day: Senators played an amazing game against Carolina, winning 3-0 and demonstrating they can defeat a superior team. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh decimated Montreal 9-2 on Thursday and are looking to continue their dominance on the road.

Season Highlights
The Ottawa Senators filed for bankruptcy on January 9, 2003. They continued to play the regular season after receiving emergency financing from the NHL. The Senators won the Presidents’ Trophy, awarded to the best team in the NHL. The Senators became the first Canadian team to win the trophy since the Calgary Flames in 1989.

ON THIS DAY IN SENATORS HISTORY
In 2022, Claude Giroux became the 3rd player in Senators history to record a point streak of nine or more games during his first season with the club when he provided one goal and one assist vs. NY Islanders (4-2 loss)
In 2021, The Senators registered eight goals in a road contest for the first time since 4/3/08 at Toronto in an 8-2 victory over Florida at FLA Live Arena to mark the first time in club history the Senators recorded at least eight goals in one game against the Panthers in their season-series history.
In 2017, Chris Neil, the Senators all-time leader in penalty minutes with 2,522, announced his retirement from the NHL having appeared in 1,026 games for Ottawa across a 16-season career spent entirely with Ottawa. The fan favourite would return to the organization on April 11 following his appointment as alumni ambassador.
