Game Day – Sens vs. Capitals – Jan 16, 2025

Pre-GAME

Three makes a streak! Three starts for Merilainen and three victories, including his 2nd shutout in 3 games! Just when Sens Nation feared the future for the Senators with Ullmark’s back injury a goaltender stepped up. Sound familiar! Think Ray Emery, Andrew Hammond and Brian Elliot. The Senators are racking up points and injuries with 8 players currently on the injured list. This is an opportune time for prospects to show their talent. Let’s keep the momentum going against the Capitals tonight.

THANK YOU FOR BEING A SENS

Rourke Chartier

Rourke joined the Senators on July 15, 2022 as a free agent, after previously having played 13 games with the San Jose Shark during the 2018-19 season. A concussion injury in February 2019 impacted his career only returning to the NHL during the 2022-23 season.

Chartier played only 6 games with Ottawa during that initial season, not registering a point however, he did resign a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators the following seasons. With injuries in Ottawa, Chartier was called up to play 37 games during the 2023-24 season, scoring his first goal in 5 years on November 11, 2023.

On July 18, 2024, Chartier signed as a free agent with the Chinese-based club,. Kunlun Red Star of the KHL and was traded on December 26th to HC CSKA Moscow for cash.

With that we say to Rourke Chartier…. Thank You For Being A Sens!
