YESTERDAY IN SENS HISTORY

In 2022, Claude Giroux played his 1,000th NHL game, all with the Philadelphia Flyers franchise, when he battled the Nashville Predators.

In 2021, Anton Forsberg was claimed off waivers from Winnipeg.

In 2020, The Senators are the first NHL team to announce that a player had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Later, the team confirms that four additional members of the organization who had traveled to California (an early hot spot for coronavirus infections) with the team in March had also tested positive. An April 1 statement declares that the organization’s medical team continues to monitor players and staff and is following all appropriate and professional guidelines to help ensure the health and safety of its employees and the great community.
