In 2023, D.J. Smith established a new personal high in victories while service as Ottawa’s bench boss when the Senators’ recorded their 34th win of the season when facing Pittsburgh in a 2-1 win. Also, Thomas Chabot, surpassed Zdeno Chara for sole possession of 4th most goals by a defenceman in team history when he found the back of the net in Pittsburgh.
In 2022, Travis Hamonic was acquired from Vancouver in exchange for a 3rd-round pick. Also, Mathieu Joseph was acquired from Tampa Bay along with a 2024 4th-round pick in exchange for Nick Paul.
In 2018, Ottawa defenceman Patrick Sieloff became the first player in NHL history to score a goal in each of his first two games while playing for two different teams when he tallies in his Senators’ debut during a 7-2 home loss vs. Florida. He had previously scored in his lone NHL game for the Calgary Flames, during their 2-1 win at Minnesota on April 9, 2016.
