Daniel Alfredsson rejoins Senators

HE’S BAAAAACK!! #11 RETURNS TO OTTAWA

The longest serving captain in Ottawa Senators history has returned to the franchise. Daniel Alfredsson appeared on the ice during this morning’s practice per The Atlthetic’s Ian Mendes. A specific role has not been determined as of yet but it’s expected to be in player development.

Alfredsson, regarded as the best player in Senators history played 17 seasons with Ottawa and was inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame last year. He held the role of senior adviser of hockey operations until 2017. The Senators retired jersey number 11 on Dec 29, 2016 to honour Daniel Alfredsson who became the first player to have his number retired by the club in modern history.
