We focus on only one jersey in this issue, as we focus on jersey #89. First worn by Mike Comrie during the 2006-07 season, Comrie would return with the Senators two years later to wear the same number again. Following Comrie, Cory Conacher joined the Senators to wear jersey #89 which was worn by Max McCormick and Mikkel Boedker as well.

ON THE BENCH
Paul MacLean (2011-2014)
Paul MacLean started his coaching career with the Peoria Rivermen of the International Hockey League from 1993 to 1996. He started his NHL journey by serving as Assistant Coach for the Phoenix Coyotes during the 1996-97 season. He returned to the IHL from 1997 to 2000, serving as Head Coach of the Kansas City Blades followed by coaching the Quad City Mallards of the United Hockey League (UHL) from 2000 to 2002. He returned to the NHL to serve as Assistant Coach for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim under Head Coach Mike Babcock. He would follow Mike Babcock to the Detroit Red Wings as Assistant Coach winning the Stanley Cup in the 2007-08 season.
On June 14, 2011, the Ottawa Senators announced Paul MacLean as Head Coach of the club, his first head coaching job at the NHL level. During the 2011-12 season, the Senators had a record of 41-31-10, finishing 2nd in the Northeast division. They were eliminated from the playoffs in the Conference Quarterfinals by the New York Rangers in game seven.
For the 2012-13 season, the Senators had a record of 25-17-6, finishing 4th in the Northeast but still qualifying for the playoffs. They lost in the Conference Semi-Finals to the Pittsburgh Penguins. On April 13, 2012, MacLean was named a finalist for the 2012 Jack Adams Award for NHL Coach of the Year and won the 2013 Jack Adams Award the following season.
On July 4, 2013, the Senators announced that MacLean had signed a 3-year contract extension with the team. During the 2013-14 season, the Senators had a record of 37-31-14, finishing 5th in the Atlantic division and missing the playoffs. The following season, during the 2014-15 season, the Senators amassed a record of 11-11-5 when the club made the decision, on December 8, 2014, to fire Paul MacLean has Head Coach of the Senators, replacing him with Dave Cameron.
Paul MacLean joined the Anaheim Ducks as Assistant Coach under Bruce Boudreau in 2015 later joining the Columbus Blue Jackets as Assistant Coach until 2020 when he joined the Toronto Maple Leafs as Assistant Coach, under Sheldon Keefe. He became Senior Adviser to the team until his departure at the end of the 2021-22 season.
