Game Day – Sens vs. Blue Jackets – Dec 1, 2023

Whistling Along

Columbus is famous for being the only place in the United States to manufacture metal whistles. The American Whistle Corporation has been around since 1956 and produces one million metal whistles every year.

The Columbus factory cut, stamp, smooth, polish, assemble, solder, and pack each whistle made within its walls. All of the whistles are made of brass.

The factory is the only United States manufacturer of the rubber Safe-T-Tips, too. The rubber tips help to protect the lips and teeth.

GAME DAY REPORT

Senators All-Time vs. Blue Jackets: 19-12-2-5

It’s the battle of the bottom dwellers as two 8th place teams will battle it out to gain some valuable points. The Senators have had a horrendous run at home and are finally hitting the road to change their luck, facing the Blue Jackets at the Nationwide Arena.

Thomas Chabot is expected to make his return to the lineup after suffering a fractured hand that put him out for several weeks. This will be the first time the Senators will have their full defensive core since mid-October.

Statistically, this will be an interesting contest. In special teams, the Blue Jackets have a powerful Penalty Killing unit ranking 2nd in the NHL meanwhile Ottawa ‘s PK has been tanking, ranking near the bottom of the league. Both teams allow more than 3 goals per game meaning this could be a high scoring affair.
