Last time: On Dec 14, the Ottawa Senators lost to the St Louis Blues 4-2. The Blues got out to a 3-0 lead and maintained their lead. That loss was the 3rd of 6th straight for the Senators.

Game recap – Mar 19 – sens vs. bruins

Sens takes another colossal loss, this time to the Bruins, 6-2.

The Senators knew the game would be tough when they entered the TD Garden to face the league leading Boston Bruins. It was another game where the Senators remained competitive for two periods before suffering another collapse in the 3rd leading to a one-sided victory.

Quick Sens Highlights:

  • Boston scored twice in the first period to take a 2-0 lead.
  • Shane Pinto scored his 7th of the season, assisted by Claude Giroux and Thomas Chabot to break the goose egg and chop the lead in half.
  • Five minutes later Boston scored once again, to re-establish a 2 goal lead.
  • Not to be outdone, Senators captain, Brady Tkachuk scored with 4 seconds left in the 2nd period to once again cut the lead down to 1. The goal was Tkachuk’s 31st of the season, assisted by Drake Batherson and Jakob Chychrun.
  • The Senators collapsed in the 3rd period allowing three unanswered goals by Boston, including two goals less than 1 minute apart.
  • Joonas Korpisalo took the loss, making 20 saves on 26 shots for a 6.00 GA and .769 SV%.

⇉ Phil Bourque acquired by Ottawa
In 1994, Phil Bourque was acquired from N.Y. Rangers in exchange for future considerations. Bourque, who had established great success with the Pittsburgh Penguins, including the 1992 Stanley Cup victory, played for Ottawa over three seasons. He played 62 games for 7 goals and 14 points.

📃 Chirstian Wolanin joins Senators
In 2018, Christian Wolanin signed a 2-year entry level contract with the Ottawa Senators and made his NHL debut the following night. Wolanin saw action with the Ottawa Senators over 4 seasons, playing 58 games and accumulating 5 goals and 18 points. His season high was during the 2018-19 season where he played 30 games with the club for 4 goals and 8 assists.
