Pre-GAME
Ottawa received a shellacking at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche, falling 5-1 on Thursday. The only godsend was that Rangers, Blue Jackets and Canadiens all suffered losses as well. However, Blue Jackets and Canadiens each picked up a point for overtime losses. Ottawa has 77 points and currently holds the 1st wildcard position while Montreal is only 3 points behind with 74 points, holding onto the 2nd wildcard position. Islanders and Rangers have 72 points and are chasing the Canadiens for that 2nd spot.
