ON THIS DAY IN SENS HISTORY

In 2020, The Senators meet the Los Angeles Kings at the STAPLES Center in what ultimately becomes the final NHL game of the 2019-2020 regular season. As the teams take the ice for warmup ahead of the 7:30pm PDT start, the National Basketball Association announces that it is suspending its season after a Utah Jazz player tested positive for the novel coronavirus prior to a game in Oklahoma City. The NHL seasons was paused the following day and the Senators returned home from Los Angeles instead of continuing a five-game road trip in Chicago.

In 2017, Craig Anderson surpassed Patrick Lalime to move into 1st place among all-time Senators goaltenders in wins with 147 against Colorado in a 4-2 win.

In 2003, Bryan Smolinski was acquired from Los Angeles in exchange for prospect defenceman Tim Gleason.
