origins of the kraken
As the Sens get ready to face the Seattle Kraken, let’s see where this mythical creature originated.
The history of the Kraken goes back to an account written in 1180 by King Sverre of Norway. As with many legends, the Kraken started with something real, based on sightings of a real animal, the giant squid. For the ancient navigators, the sea was treacherous and dangerous, hiding a horde of monsters in its inconceivable depths. Any encounter with an unknown animal could gain a mythological edge from sailors’ stories.
GAME DAY REPORT

Senators All-Time vs. Kraken: 2-2
The Ottawa Senators and the Seattle Kraken are both facing three game losing streaks and looking for an opportunity to stop their losing ways tonight.
Statistically, both teams are at the bottom of the league in many metrics which explains their current losing trend. Ottawa’s penalty kill keeps slipping downwards as it allowed more special teams goals yesterday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Both teams allow about 3.5 goals per game while Ottawa can score more goals on average, however they have only scored 2 goals in the last 2 games.
