ON THIS DAY IN SENS HISTORY

In 2023, Ridly Greig recorded his first NHL point (an assist) against the NY Islanders (2-1 win).

In 2022, Tyler Ennis registered his second career hat-trick (and first since 3/4/2019) in Ottawa when facing Buffalo (5-0 win) becoming the 5th different skater in franchise history to record a three-goal game at age 32 or older and joining Jason Spezza as the lone players in league history to record hat-tricks with both Ontario based NHL clubs.

In that same game, Drake Batherson suffers a high left ankle sprain caused by Buffalo’s Aaron Dell who becomes first goalie suspended since 4/22/07. The injury sustained in a game derails Batherson’s opportunity to play in the NHL All-Star Game.

In 2021, Drake Batherson became the 1st Senator since Jean-Gabriel Pageau to score in four consecutive games while also becoming the 6th different Senator under the age of 22 to accomplish the feat when he opened the night’s scoring against Calgary – 6-1 win.

In 2020, Brady Tkachuk in conjunction with his brother Matthew, the pair became the 5th set of brothers (in the last 40 years) to oppose one another in an NHL All-Star Game in their hometown of St. Louis.

In 2017, Senators owner Euguene Melnyk appointed former MLSE executive Tom Anselmi as the team’s President and CEO in the succession of Cyril Leeder.

In 2015, Bobby Ryan represented the Senators, contributing two points (one goal and one assist) for Team Foligno, at the 60th NHL All-Star Game in Columbus.
