🎂HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTT GOMEZ🥳
Gomez celebrates his 45th birthday today! The Achorage Alaska native was selected in the 1st round – 27th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1998 NHL Draft. Most remembered for his stay in New Jersey where he played for 7 seasons, Gomez also played 2 years for the New York Rangers, and 3 years with the Montreal Canadiens. After Montreal he bounced around to San Jose for 39 games, the Florida Panthers for 46 backs, back to New Jersey for 58 games, the St. Louis Blues for 21 games before ending his career with the Ottawa Senators.

Gomez played 13 games during the 2015-16 season scoring only 1 assist during that time. He ended his career playing more than 1,000 games, scoring more than 180 goals, recording 575 assists for 756 points.

In 2019, Thomas Chabot appeared in at least 31:00 time-on-ice for a fourth consecutive game. Upon doing so, he had skated in more 31:00+ contests than all other NHL players combined (three) dating to the start of the season.

In 2006, each of the Senators’ 6 defenceman (Corvo, Meszaros, Phillips, Preissing, Redden, Volchenkov) record at least one point in a 6-3 win in Philadelphia marking the first time in franchise history that the club received points for each of its defenceman in one game.
