GAME DAY REPORT

Senators All-Time vs. Panthers: 57-44-3-5

Tonight’s game is Hockey Fights Cancer Night at the Canadian Tire Centre where the Senators will celebrate everyone who has been impacted by cancer. Michael and Lucie Andlauer have announced that they will be matching all community gifts up to $100,000 to support the Senators Community.

It’s also a battle between brothers as Brady Tkachuk battles his brother Matthew Tkachuk for the first time this season. The Senators have re-assigned forward Roby Jarventie and goaltender Mads Sogaard to the Belleville Sens as Korpisalo is expected to start tonight.

Statistically, this one is close despite the misleading fact Panthers have 12 wins and stand 2nd in the Atlantic. The Panthers penalty kill and power-play are very comparable to the Senators. The biggest discrepancy is in average goal scored where Ottawa dominates but the Panthers dominate in averaging less goals allowed.

Sens winning streak ends with lost to Islanders 5-3

ON THIS DAY IN SENS HISTORY – NOV 27

🥳🎂 Happy Birthday Anton Forsberg
Anton Forsberg turns 31 today!  The Ottawa Senators goaltender recently made NHL history becoming the first Swedish goaltender to win an NHL game in Sweden when the Senators defeated the Minnesota Wild on November 18th.

🥅 Korpisalo reaches 100 games!
In 2019, Joonas Korpisalo started his 100th NHL game with the Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Philadelphia. He would go on to start in his 200th NHL game last year with the Los Angeles Kings.

🧾 Chara sets record against Senators
Also in 2019, the Boston Bruins overcame a 1-0 deficit on the strength of captain (and former Senator) Zdeno Chara’s second game-winning goal of the season in Boston’s 2-1 win over Ottawa at the Canadian Tire Centre. The marker sees Chara become the first defenceman in NHL history, age 42 or older, to record multiple game-winning goals in the same season while also becoming the oldest defenceman in NHL history to record a four-game point streak.
