Last Season: The Senators faced the Nashville Predators twice, splitting the series. It started with a 4-3 overtime victory on January 29th for the Senators before falling to the Predators on February 27th 4-1, extending Nashville’s winning streak to 6 games.

PLAYER PROFILE – Tyler Kleven

Drafted in 2020 in the 2nd round – 44th overall by Ottawa, the Fargo, North Dakota native, is enjoying his third year in the NHL and with the Senators. Having only played 17 games in the NHL in the last two years, Kleven has already played more games this year after cracking the Senators line-up. He recently scored his first NHL game when the Senators faced the San Jose Sharks on their California road trip.

ON THIS DAY IN SENATORS HISTORY

🎂 Happy Birthday Milan Michalek 🥳
Happy 40th Birthday Milan Michalek! The Czechia native from Jindrichuv Hradec, was selected in the 1st round – 6th overall by the San Jose Sharks. Michalek played 5 years in San Jose before being traded to the Ottawa Senators on September 12, 2009 along with Jonathan Cheechoo and a 2010 – 2nd round pick for Dany Heatley.

Michalek played 7 seasons with the Senators, participating in over 400 games, scoring more than 100 goals and amassing more than 200 points. He was later traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs along with Colin Greening, Tobias Lindberg and Jared Cowen in exchange for Dion Phaneuf and 4 prospects. Michalek only played 18 games for Toronto before his retirement from the NHL.

In 2021, Connor Brown played the 400th game of his NHL career in Ottawa facing the New York Islanders.  After his departure from Ottawa, Brown had a brief stay in Washington before joining the Edmonton Oilers where he has since surpassed 500 NHL games.

In 2016, Erik Karlsson became the first Senators defenceman to record 411 points, the most for a defenceman in franchise history – surpassing Wade Redden, when he recorded a goal in Ottawa’s 4-2 win at San Jose.
