Last Time: On Dec 5th, the Ottawa Senators defeated the league leading Rangers 6-2. The Senators, who had scored 4 goals in the last 3 games, ended up scoring 6 times against a team that sat sixth in the league in allowing the fewest goals against.

Senators come back from 2-0 deficit but falter in overtime to lose 3-2.

In a special teams heavy game, the Bruins only needed 3 seconds to capitalize on their 1 powerplay. Meanwhile the Senators found the Bruins penalty kill impossible to break in the first period. After making adjustments the Sens managed to score 2 powerplay goals and take the game to overtime. Brad Marchand scored his 24th goal of the season when he capitalized on a 2 on 1, taking the shot and beating Korpisalo at 1:48 of overtime.

In 2022, Nick Holden signed a one-year contract extension with Ottawa. He was acquired from Vegas with a 3rd-round pick by trade on July 28, 2021 for Evgenii Dadonov. Holden played in 76 games during the 2021-22 season, recording 5 goals and 14 assists. After signing his extension, he played in 65 games recording 2 goals and 14 assists. He retired from professional hockey on September 12, 2023 and joined the Vegas Golden Knights Player Development staff.
