Shark ATtack
According to National Geographic, 13 humans had shark injuries in 1996. In comparison, their toilet caused injuries to over 40,000 People. This is a humorous fact to share at a dinner party, but certainly not the first thought that comes to mind if you ever find yourself in the water with a shark.Few animals have the power to give us nightmares, despite the fact that humans kill almost two million sharks for every one of us they consume. So what’s the best method to get away if you ever find yourself in the unfortunate position of getting too close to one of these toothy tearaways?
1) surf smart: Surfers are the targets of around half of all shark attacks. They may mistake the shape of the board above for a seal because they frequently hunt near the coast. Although there is very little possibility that you may run into a shark even if you are in the water frequently, being aware of the risks is a good idea. 2) Keep your cool: It’s crucial to maintain your composure if a shark is around. Avoid making a lot of noise or splashing around because doing so will just draw more attention to you. 3) Offence is the best defense: Use your fingers to strike instead of punching or kicking because water resistance will lessen the force of many of your blows. Attack the shark’s eyes, nose, and gills, which are its most vulnerable parts. Dive in and don’t let up until it releases you. 4) Make like a banana …and split: Sharks are not used to their prey making a strong defense. Giving your attacker a hard time can cause it to flee and move on to an easier victim. You must now quickly return to land.
GAME DAY REPORT

All-Time vs. Sharks: 19-17-4
Almost half way in the season and the Senators and Sharks are having their first battle. Ottawa is riding a 5 game losing streak while the bottom feeding San Jose Sharks scored a big victory over the Montreal Canadians. It’s a special 4pm game and Star Wars Night in the Nation’s Capital, hoping the promotion delivers a good showing for the Ottawa fans and well, the Senators could certainly use the Force tonight!
Statistically, you won’t find a team that is doing worse than the Senators very often. The Sharks are dead last in the league on Penalty Kill, scoring and allowing the most goals on average per game. While Ottawa is not far behind, they are 31st in the league on penalty kill (only a .1 percentage point separation from the Sharks) and also 31st in allowing the most goals on average. So, I think we can expect lots of goals to be scored in this game!

📋👍 An Extension, a Promotion and a Senior Advisor
In 2014, the Ottawa Senators extended the contract of General Manager Bryan Murray through July 2016 and promoted both, Director of Hockey Operations and Player Development Randy Lee and Director of Player Personnel Pierre Dorion to Assistant General Manager. The Senators also announced that Bryan Murray would move into an advisory role for two years at the conclusion of his contract.
⭐ Drake Batherson All-Star
In 2022, Drake Batherson is named the team’s representative for the NHL All-Star Game for the first time in his career, only to see a high left ankle sprain sustained in a game on Jan 25th derail that opportunity. Brady Tkachuk is named as Batherson’s replacement on Jan 26.
by the numbers – jersey # 19
For longtime Ottawa Senators fanatics, jersey #19 was synonymous with superstar Jason Speeza, but nowadays that jersey number is associated with Drake Batherson who made his debut with that number during the 2019-20 season.
Did you know that only five Senators players have worn jersey #19 in franchise history? Two of those five are Jason Speeza and Drake Batherson, do you remember the other three Ottawa Senators players who wore jersey #19?
