Season Highlights
The NHL re-aligned the division due to the Canada-U.S. border restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Senators were re-aligned with the six Canadian teams into a North Division. The season also included 56 games instead of the usual 82 game schedule.
In December, the Senators announced a 7-year lease extension with the city of Belleville, Ontario to host the AHL affiliate team, Belleville Senators.
The Senators parted ways with long-time goaltender Craig Anderson and obtained free agent Matt Murray as a replacement. The Senators also parted ways with Bobby Ryan, buying out his contract.
2020-21 Senators Highlights
- Most games played: Nick Paul, Drake Batherson, Josh Norris, Connor Brown, and Brady Tkachuk all played 56 games.
- Top Scorer: Connor Brown scored 21 goals.

🥳HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLE REINHARDT🎂
Reinhardt is celebrating his 25th birthday! The Alberta native was drafted in 2020 in the 6th round, 181st overall. He enjoyed 12 games with the Senators this year before suffering an injury. He scored his first goal on November 25th in a game against Calgary after recording his first NHL point on October 25th in Vegas.
TOMORROW IN SENS HISTORY
In 2023, Derick Brassard skated in the 1,000th game of his NHL career at NY Rangers. He became the 7th player in league history to score multiple goals while skating in their 1,000th regular season game when he became the 2nd Senator in franchis history (Chris Philips) to find the back of the net twice in their milestone contest.
In 2009, General Manager Bryan Murray relieves head coach Craig Hartsburg of his duties. Murray names Cory Clouston, head coach of the Binghamton Senators, to replace Hartsburg until the end of the season.
