Season Highlights

Dany Heatley notified General Manager Bryan Murray that he wanted to be traded out of Ottawa due to his perceived low ice time and role under new coach Cory Clouston. After refusing a trade with Edmonton, Bryan Murray tried to convince Heatley to stay during the opening training camp. Heatley remained steadfast with his request and he was traded to the San Jose Sharks for Milan Michalek and Jonathan Cheechoo.

Cyril Leeder, previously serving as chief operating officer of Scotiabank Place, was named team president, replacing Roy Mlakar.
